Manufacturing Engineering Intern, Jig and Fixture

  • Reverse engineered jigs and fixtures based on outdated AutoCAD drawings and physical fixtures. The updated fixtures were modeled in Inventor to allow for design revisions and to improve documentation of said jigs and fixtures.

  • Utilized Inventor to create detailed technical drawings for manufacturing parts and assemblies.

  • Designed new versions of assemblies to increase function, ergonomics, and simplicity, increasing productivity, material handling efficiency, and manufacturability.

  • Created a new organization structure for fixtures throughout a sector of the machine shop. Documented ~150 jigs in an electronic database and an Excel spreadsheet.

  • Expanded knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes through shadowing machinists and welders.
